International Education in Macaé 

The City of Macaé hosts one of the main administrative headquarters for the Brazilian petroleum industry, a magnet that attracts families with children from the international arena.  There are approximately fifty international families within the International School of Macaé (ISoM) service area that have children under the age of 18.  This market segment inspires ISoM to continuously pursue the optimal organization of a standards-based, cognitively relevant, world-class educational program for the community of learners whom we serve.  The potential market share for the 2010 school year is 65 international students. 

The need for an excellent global educational entity in Macaé is validated and magnified by the knowledge that education is a strong contribution towards future opportunities for employment and involvement for changing social, economic, and cultural directions at a global level.

Numerous studies document the direct value of education with an international mindset. These studies indicate a direct correlation demonstrating that a global education develops an ability to think critically about international relationships in social, economic and political arenas, allowing students to grow and become members of an informed community using their influence and resources to effect change at the local, national, and international level.
